History of UVD Robots

UVD Robots ApS was founded in 2016 by Blue Ocean Robotics. The objective, in particular, is to globally promote robotic-based UV Disinfection solutions for hospitals. The incorporation followed a Private Public Innovation project starting in 2014. In other words, Blue Ocean Robotics and Odense University Hospital (OUH) began a partnership with other hospitals in Denmark. Specifically, they developed the first prototype of the UV-Disinfection Robot. The goal, of course, is to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI’s). This benefits not only patients, but also hospital staff. Additionally, this lowers associated healthcare costs.

What is the Need

Hospital Acquired Infections are undoubtedly a big and growing problem in the global healthcare sector. Surprisingly, each year millions of patients are infected and thousands of patients die from infections caught during hospitalization. Furthermore, the HAIs result in extra costs for hospitals. This is due to additional days spent in bed, readmissions, and reduced operational efficiency.

Why We Do What We Do

UVD Robots philosophy is generally centered around combining proven UV germicidal industrial solutions with new advanced robot technologies. Thus, creating new products to help the healthcare industry by killing harmful pathogens and superbugs. Therefore making healthcare environments safer. As well as improving quality of care for hospitals and healthcare facilities around the world.

Altogether, UVD Robots is a Danish-based company focused on the expansion of our business. Additionally they are focused on distribution set-up on a global scale. However, we are represented in most regions due to our rapidly expanding distribution/distributor’s network.
